The ION Power Pack is a 25.2-volt removable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack.
How do I insert/remove my battery?
To insert, slide the ION Power Pack Battery into the slot on the back of the handheld vacuum. To remove, pinch the release tab and slide the ION Power Pack battery out of the handheld vacuum.
What are the lights on my ION Power Pack for?
The lights on the ION Power Pack serve multiple purposes. One purpose is to show the remaining charge in your ION Power Pack while in use. The lights will also blink and illuminate to show the status of the ION Power Pack while charging. In addition, the lights will illuminate in certain configurations to inform you of any issues with the ION Power Pack.

You can charge your ION Power Pack by using a Shark® ION Power Pack Charger along with accessories such as the charging dock and wall mount. Please note that only Shark chargers should be used to charge an ION Power Pack. Consult your instruction book for approved models.

The initial charge on the pack is approximately 30%. Fully charge the pack (3.5 hours minimum/overnight preferred) and assess battery performance.
Note that battery run time is affected by the amount of work you are performing. Vacuuming on high pile carpet while using “ION Boost” will reduce battery run time quicker than vacuuming bare floors.
If you have more than one battery, it is recommended that you use each equally in use and charging.

Your ION Power Pack may feel warm in use as air passes through the vacuum. If it feels uncomfortably warm, stop using the vacuum and allow for the battery to cool. If the battery continues to feel warm, or you see any LED indicators as outlined in your instruction book, contact Customer Service.

What is an ION Power Core battery?
The ION Power Core battery is a 28.8-volt removable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack.
How do I insert/remove my battery?
To insert the ION Power Core battery, slide the battery into the opening in the vacuum pod with the handle toward the back and push down until you hear a click. To ensure proper insertion, the handle on the battery must be down.
To remove the ION Power Core battery, lift the handle on the top of the battery and pull up.

You can charge your Shark ION™ W1 by placing it on the ION Charging Dock. Please note that only the ION Charging Dock should be used to charge your vacuum.

Note that battery runtime is affected by how long the unit’s power is on. It is recommended to turn the vacuum off when not in use and when between cleaning jobs.

You do not have to wait for your battery to fully discharge before you can charge it again. It is recommended that you leave your vacuum on the ION Charging Dock after each use to recharge the battery completely. For optimal runtime, always return your vacuum to the dock after each use.

How do I charge my handheld vacuum?
- Connect the charging adapter to the port on the back of the vacuum.
- Plug the charger into a wall outlet.
The red charging light will fade in and out. This means the vacuum is charging.
How long should the handheld vacuum be charged?
Lithium-ion batteries take approximately 6 hours to fully charge.
How long should my handheld vacuum operate after a full charge?
A full charge will last about 13 minutes if you are using a motorized attachment. Without a motorized attachment, the handheld vacuum can run longer. It is normal that battery run time gets shorter after a year. Please note that batteries are not covered under warranty.
What does it mean when the charging indicator light blinks red 5 times?
When the red light indicator flashes for 5 seconds this means either the battery power is low or there is a jam in the unit. Clear any clogs or debris buildup.
How do I know when my handheld vacuum is fully charged?
When the handheld vacuum is charging, the red indicator light will fade in and out. When the vacuum is fully charged, the indicator light will turn green for 5 seconds, then shut off.
How do I dispose of my handheld vacuum?
This product uses a rechargeable and recyclable lithium-ion battery. When the battery no longer holds a charge, the hand vacuum should be disposed of according to your local ordinances. The hand vacuum must not be incinerated or composted. Contact your local recycling center for information on where to drop off the handheld vacuum (the battery is not removable).
