The flow and heat modes keep changing. How do I prevent that?
Make sure your accessories are fully connected and clicked in. Your hair dryer has accessory recognition, so when you attach an accessory, it knows which one is attached and automatically sets the heat and flow to the recommended modes. If the modes are changing during use, this is a sign that the accessory is not fully connected. Make sure each accessory is completely clicked into place and that the IQ light on the back of the hair dryer lights up.

This button is the Cool Shot button. When you hold it down, it turns off the heater and blows room temperature air. This helps close the cuticle and smooth the hair at the end of styling.
The Cool Shot button is intended to "finish" the style. When diffusing curls or when using the AirWave, press and hold the Cool Shot button for 10 seconds before moving on to the next section of hair to help lock in your style and set the shape of your curls or waves. To tame frizz using the concentrator or styling brush accessories, press and hold the Cool Shot button while moving in a downward motion from roots to ends. To shape ends using the concentrator or styling brush accessories, wrap the ends of your hair around a round brush or around the bristles on the styling brush and engage the Cool Shot button for 10 seconds.

To engage Cool Shot, you must press the button and hold it in. The Cool Shot ends when the button is released. When the Cool Shot button is held down, you should feel the air turn from warm to room temperature and the red LEDs will turn off. When you release the button, the temperature will return to the prior setting.

Due to the high air velocity of the hair dryer, some find it helpful to focus the air in more concentrated areas to avoid tangling. Try using the concentrator nozzle to focus the air more, which should help reduce tangling. Try using a lower flow or holding the dryer a little farther away from your hair. Lastly, try using the dryer with a hairbrush or round brush in your other hand as you dry to help focus airflow on the desired section of hair.

When you use the AirWave, make sure you are starting with nearly dry hair (about 80–90% dry). A few recommendations to make your style last:
- We recommend using a light mousse before drying the hair as well as a hold spray once you take the hair out of the AirWave.
- When you put hair into the tool, tip the AirWave upside down for best results.
- Before pulling hair out of the tool, hold Cool Shot for about 10 seconds.
- Before running fingers through the curl, allow the curl to cool completely and finish with a hold spray.
